A return to a new vintage of a wine that did very well at the last ‘Top 10 Tasting’ that we did of Chardonnay – the 2020 finishing fourth on a very star-studded list, and proving to be one of our taster’s favourite wine of the day. A bright pale gold in the glass, with a varietally-pure bouquet. Scented with lemon, grapefruit pith, tarragon, white-fleshed nectarine, pear and sweeter tones of nougat, brioche and baking spice. A calm, precise entry to the palate, before opening out into a much wider and textural mouthfeel at the back. Complex, layered and progressive, with elements slowly revealing themselves at the wine opens up – a sign of a well-crafted winemaking. Acidity swells and gives excellent line to a dry, minerally finish of some length. 95pts
