From the Cornerstone Vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels, Hawke’s Bay. A lovely pale coral pink in the glass. Aromatic, with strawberry cream pavlova, orange blossom, red cherry, plum coulis, white pepper, and rose petal notes on the nose. The generosity of being off-dry in style gives a bloom of ripe fruit sweetness. Robust and full of personality in the palate, with some phenolics and tannin in the mix. The finish returns to that candy shop plushness and will find favour with customers who don’t want the on-trend bone dry style. 89pts
