From the Seaview vineyard in Awatere, Marlborough. A wine I have a great regard for, having tracked down tank samples at the winery last year and gave the ’21 edition a 94/100 score. A pale green-lemon yellow in the glass, it has the most acrobatic aromatics on the nose. Intense with sliced jalapeno, lime zest, ginger, blackcurrant, white peach and gooseberry. Zingy acidity leads the way, with a burst of green notes – snow pea and chamomile – then riper, tropical canteloupe and pineapple flavours. Saline, with a nip of white pepper and oyster shell. Clean, pure and with a focus and directness that is vibrant and polished. The finish is piquant, dry and mouthwatering. 93pts
