Winner of many awards over the years – including a prestigious Best in Show award at the Decanter WWA this year. Made from Tuki Tuki valley fruit in Hawke’s Bay. A bright lemon-gold in the glass. Bold and smoky, with a hint of struck match reductivity (but well less than in previous vintages) on the nose. Toasted cashew, nectarine, acacia, grapefruit and lemon blossom aromatics. Full bodied and richly concentrated into the palate, filled with complexity and layers of interest. A bright line of acidity and spicy, toasted oak (33% new) form a solid spine. Heading tropical in lush, ripe fruits – melon, peach and quince, but also some savoury notes of olive, weetbix and chestnut. Lovely texture, creamy and plush, comes in at the finish. 94pts
