Felton Road Cornish Point Pinot Noir 2008

Felton Road Cornish Point Pinot Noir 2008

A deep ruby, flashes of both cardinal red and magenta at the edges. Vivid ‘pinosity’ on the nose, with aromatics of crushed thyme, raspberry, dark cherry, mocha, blueberry and a lift of rose petal and violet florals. Opulent and abundant on the palate, immediately savoury meets ripe fruit. An earthy, peaty minerality and delicious black tea-soaked tannin, with just a degree of bitter chocolate. Elements of spice and herb drift through the mid palate, on a clear line of now-integrated acidity. Balance and complexity is key here. A lose-yourself in it wine. A persistant, glossy and satisfying finish. Remarkable. 96pts
