From their home vineyard in Marlborough, sealed under cork, comes this excellent Chardonnay. A vibrant pale gold in the glass, with compelling grapefruit, apple, peach, nutmeg, cashew, ginger and lemon blossom aromas on the nose. The brisk acidity hasn’t been dulled by the seven years in bottle, and the fruit is still primary and plush. Flinty, smoky notes lead to a palate with stone fruit, spice and oatmeal. Elegant, with an energy and tension tightly woven over the ripe fruit. The texture shows both full-bodied opulence, and a silvery salinity, leading to a long, silken finish. 93pts.
