Pinot Noir from a small family winery in Wairarapa. A bright burgundy colour in the glass, with youthful, inviting aromas of ripe cherry, elderberry, sarsparilla, mint, boysenberry and toasted almond. Good acidity and lovely flow into a juicy palate with redcurrant, cranberry and red liquorice. A real pop to the mid-palate, with a lovely bounce to the layers of flavours. Plenty of character and balance here as well. The long finish is spicy and mouth-watering. 93pts. Excellent stuff.
