A Marlborough Pinot Noir, dark ruby red in the glass. Aromas of vibrant red fruits – cherry, redcurrant, raspberry and black plum. A youthful brightness, with sassy acidity leading into the bright, concentrated palate. More savoury flavours of chorizo, espresso and liquorice emerge from under the plump blanket of fruit. Crisp, fruit-forward and full of energy – there’s no great show of oak here, and it has a freshness and pop that could take a little chill, even. Tannins are smooth, soft and lithe. The finish is ripe and clean but without any great length. 91pts.
