Handpicked fruit from The Landing estate in the excellent 2019 vintage, this barrique-fermented Chardonnay is a vibrant pale lemon-yellow in the glass. Aromas of peach, orange blossom and roast almond on the nose. Full bodied, dry and elegant, but still quite taut and structured, it is still very appealing now, despite an obvious cellaring potential. The stone-fruit and citrus flavours are ripe and generous with layers of stony minerality, nutty oak, brioche and oatmeal lees-influences adding to the complexity, character and balance. The finish is filled with baking spice and drying tannins – ending long and generous. 94pts.
