Kumeu River today announced an introduction of a membership scheme. Every year the most anticipated release from Kumeu River are the Single Vineyard wines and in particular the Chardonnays. With Kumeu River CRU there will be three entry level tiers offered annually.
Winemaker Michael Brajkovich MW explained: “When Dad set out to make great Chardonnay he really only had his sights on making one great wine, Kumeu River Chardonnay – and for many years that’s all we made. But, over time single vineyards put up their hands producing special individual expressions. First there was Mate’s Vineyard, then Hunting Hill & Coddington and now we’ve expanded into the Hawke’s Bay with our Rays Road Chardonnay and we’re very excited to develop a new style of Chardonnay from this unique, high altitude, clay over limestone site”.
Kumeu River will also host members for an exclusive pre-release tasting at Kumeu River on the 25th and 26th of July to celebrate the new vintage. You will also get the chance to join Michael for a tour of the barrel room to taste the next vintages wines while still developing.
