From Kawarau/Gibbston in Central Otago. Fermented in open-top fermenter to 13.7% alc, aged 10 months in barrels, 28% new oak. Under screwcap. Bright glossy pale to medium ruby. Red cherry and star anise aromas. Medium tannins with a flavour profile of red cherry and redcurrant. Is fruit driven with some white mushroom, savoury background notes. Vibrant acidity is the key stand out of this wine which is mouth-watering and has a real zing to it. Length is medium. 91pts
