From the most southerly part of the Marlborough region – its unique position makes the vineyard ‘Marlborough’s first valley for budburst, but fog and cool breezes make it the last to harvest’ according to the producer.
A pale straw-golden colour. The bouquet is vibrant, floral and bright – showing pear, lemon, greengage, ginger, allspice, white peach, incense and honeysuckle on the nose. Bone dry and crisp to taste, with a tight, saline acidity to the fore. A touch of lees-influence gives a peppery fruit tannin through the palate, merging with a silky texture to give a lovely waxy mouthfeel. Quite long through the middle, carried on that zesty acid, into a finish of good persistence and harmony. 92pts
