A wine from Central Otago – usually from the Pisa and Bendigo subregions. A blushing coral pink colour in the glass. Vibrantly aromatic, with strawberry, watermelon, red apple, peach and hibiscus floral notes. Dry but with lashings of ripe summer berry fruit flavours lifting the palate into a juicy intensity. There’s plenty of fresh acidity gives drive and mouth-watering energy through the palate, but a year in bottle has also given a calm smoothness to some of the initial edge which suits the style. A great food wine or as a crisp aperitif – I like to serve it well chilled. 90pts
