An Albariño from Hawke’s Bay. A quite green tinge to the straw colour in the glass. The perfumed also shows quite green, with crushed herbs, fennel bulb, pear, lime, Granny Smith apple, ginger and honeysuckle. Light to medium-bodied, with that very crisp, salinity of acidity that is representative of the varietal. It fleshes out through the palate, with a minerality developing, underlining the zesty fruit flavours. A well-balanced, dry finish is a little short on length, but it will be a decent food match to shellfish, sashimi and oysters. 88pts
