A single vineyard wine from the Awatere Vineyard in Marlborough.
Brilliant lemon-green in the glass, with inviting aromas of cinnamon, lemon blossom and white peach. Full and open on the palate with ripe pear, lychee, candied ginger and baking spice flavours emerging. Off-dry with a gentle sweetness and a silky, enveloping texture. Generous and complex – there’s an underlying mineral streak, but then a hint of honeyed sourdough coming in at the long, succulent finish.
A lovely example of a NZ Pinot Gris – lush and distinctive, and a definite terroir-driven style, letting the land and site shine through to the expertly-crafted finished product. Gorgeous drinking now, but also one to put away for a few years and let it develop.
