Made by Master of Wine Sam Harrop, from Hawke’s Bay fruit. A vibrant straw-gold with flashes of green to the rim. A bouquet of nectarine, mandarin and lemon zest is offset by a toasted nut butter note and a flutter of lemon blossom florals. The palate is rich, concentrated and filled with a youthful energy. There’s a stony minerality that I’ve seen in previous vintages of this wine, but also a charry incense and toast note adds layers and depth. The finish has savoury elements and a saline, crushed shell tang. Again, look to cellar this one for some time to see development and complexity. 94pts
