With 35 years’ experience as winemaker for Esk Valley (and former New Zealand Winemaker of the Year) Gordon has extensive knowledge of the vineyards and wines of Hawkes Bay to share. He’ll take you on a bespoke “behind the scenes” wine adventure where you will experience a side of Hawke’s Bay like no other.
Gordon is well placed to unlock the doors of vineyard sheds and cellars, where you’ll meet the people behind this vibrant and historic wine region. I imagine that stories will flow, and bottles that aren’t usually available will be opened.
Gordon’s tours are private and best-suited to small groups. The itinerary will be flexible to your schedule and interests, and as such all levels of wine knowledge, fitness, and dietary requirements can be met. Whether you want fine dining, riverside picnics, a tasting at the nineteenth hole, more beer than wine, a detour into the local cheese scene, or a graduate-level eduction in New Zealand wine; Gordon can make it happen.
