A carmine-burgundy red in the glass – a lighter shade than some, but it is all there on the nose. A smoky spice note precedes dark cherry, raspberry, chestnut, orange peel and mocha aromas. The palate is darker than you\u2019d guess from the colour and perfume. Brooding and lush with an inky juiciness. A surge of verdant acidity, with energy and verve, radiates through the wine.
