A Yarra Valley wine, made by Syd Bradford after taking over the old Cypress Ridge vineyard. A deep burgundy in the glass, with a smoky incense, cherry, blood orange, blueberry, mocha, redcurrant and rose petal perfume. Medium bodied but tight and precise showing great gravelly tannins and vibrant acidity. Almost as Nebbiolo (or Etna Rosso) as it is Pinot – those tannins and the fleshy red fruits – confidently ripe but also dense and solid just now.
