Winning a Gold medal at this years NZ International Wine Show. A wine from South Australia\u2019s Barossa region – one of those classic sub-$20 Shiraz so beloved of a backyard BBQ. And why not – this \u2018does what it says on the tin\u2019 – opening with an elegant nose of bramble, green herb, raspberry, mocha, liquorice and baking spices. Medium to full bodied, rich and ripe in the palate, that has good structure and plenty of signature black pepper to balance out some sweet, purple fruit. Well balanced oak doesn\u2019t dominate, and there is both power and complexity in harmony with a juicy line of acidity.
