On the nose you get strawberry and a light cassis with a definite floral top note. On the palate this is a fresh but distinctly dry wine, with a slight spiciness enriched with some grenadine and turkish delight flavours. A gentle 12% alcohol might suggest this is an ideal lunch tipple, or aperitif, and an excellent wine to match a range of foods. We tasted it with a wood smoked-bbq chicken and fennel salad, and it was mouth-wateringly good.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-147c91e elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"147c91e\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-94a7d92\" data-id=\"94a7d92\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9f31e7c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9f31e7c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Terrace Edge Waipara Pinot Gris 2017<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-d44a269 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"d44a269\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-f2e6228\" data-id=\"f2e6228\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-171b787 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"171b787\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Certified organic, from a site in Waipara that\u2019s also home to 2000 olive trees.\u00a0<\/strong>A rich and spicy aroma with notes of honeysuckle and ginger to the fore. A slightly sweet-ish wine (14g\/l), it\u2019s been mostly barrique fermented in seasoned oak and then lees-stirred giving great depth and a distinctly creamy texture. The oak influence is just a minor layering and doesn\u2019t interfere with the intensely ripe-fruited core of lychee, crisp pear and baked peach.\u00a0A long, poised finish of great balance. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-fa25f62 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"fa25f62\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-606edc6\" data-id=\"606edc6\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1ed41aa elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"1ed41aa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Craggy Range, Single Vineyard \u2018Kidnappers\u2019 Chardonnay 2016<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-14ffc6b elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"14ffc6b\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-21e7945\" data-id=\"21e7945\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7a7043c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7a7043c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>A Te Awanga, Hawke\u2019s Bay wine, from the Kidnappers vineyard.<\/strong>\u00a0Quite pale and yellow coloured, it nevertheless has a complex bouquet that has floral and crisp-fruited notes. Notably Chablis-styled without an overt oak influence, it was however fermented partially in French cuves and puncheons, and then matured in 15% new oak. A medium-weighted palate of peach and candy apple flows over an intense line of chalky salinity.
