Good to see that the producer persists with this excellent but hard-to-find varietal.<\/p>\n
A dry, aromatic white, with a bountiful perfume of peach, quince, pear, melon and citrus, with almond, chamomile and lemon blossom notes. Crisp, with acidity to spare, and a touch of textural spice from old oak – the palate is dry and rounded. A touch of savoury – that herbal quality shows again with nettle, fennel, dried apple slices, and crushed shell. A hint of old world – Burgundy as well as Germany – in the style and finesse.
