A single vineyard wine from the Alton Downs Vineyard in the Awatere Valley in Marlborough. A pale green-straw colour in the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, red apple, lemon, jalapeno, lime, guava, capsicum and crushed green herbs. Medium-bodied, dry to taste, with a saline acidity and a bright energy carrying the palate along. The salinity also shows in a layer of mineral sense of crushed shells.
