The first Sauvignon Blanc for this label based in Waikato – the fruit coming from the Dillons Point region of Marlborough. As winemaker Alex Coldicutt said to me \u201cWe do get asked for a Sav a lot, so we probably should have one\u201d. A very pale steely lemon yellow in the glass. The bouquet is intense but elegantly aromatic, with blackcurrant, grapefruit, red apple, dried pineapple, chamomile, lemon and boxwood. Also, that jellybean note that hints at white Bordeaux. Crisp and dry to taste, with zesty acidity giving excellent length. Plenty of phenolic grip, with fruit tannin and a quartzy minerality evident. Well-structured, but with a lightness of touch and the finish is refreshing but fine and lengthy. A rather good first effort. 93pts<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
