One of a range of Chardonnays made from their beautiful vineyards on the Purerua Peninsula in the Bay of Islands, in a very good, if low quantity, vintage. A translucent and bright lemon-green in the glass. The bouquet starts with ripe fruit – peach, grapefruit, lemon and pear, but also showing some cashew, vanilla and baking spice. The palate is medium-bodied and juicy, with that citrus leading the way, on a wave of crisp acidity. Dry, with a youthful energy that pulses through the middle, giving good direction and drive.
