This is the one. This vintage of this wine took out the \u201cWorld\u2019s best Pinot Noir Trophy\u201d at the prestigious London International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) in 2017. Planted on land that was 19th century goldmines, overlooking Felton Road in Bannockburn, Central Otago. A brooding, fairly opaque burgundy red in the glass. Quite complex on the nose, with contrasting savoury and ripe fruit scents. Dark cherry, plum, raspberry, rosehip and vanilla meet nori, salami, thyme and tapenade. A little secondary character is evident, with some mushroom, dried cranberry and leather into the palate. Smooth, with fine, dusty tannin and an integrated acidity, and enough oak influence to add warmth and depth.
