A first release for this new label comes from the McCreanor Vineyard in Martinborough. A pale, lemon colour in the glass, with just a sheen of silvery metallic to the rim. A voluminous, bright aroma of pear, honey, peach, greengage, lemon curd, almond, white pepper, hay and spring flowers. That density of perfume echoes in the palate – full-bodied and with some generous weight to it. It\u2019s dry, with an energetic acidity, but the hedonistic texture is what this wine revolves around. Pithy, grippy and spicy. Sumptuous and creamy, with cardamom and vanilla flavours sliding across the tongue. Lots of moving parts but artfully balanced and well-made.
