Having visited the vineyard that was the winner of this award from 2022 – Antinori nel Chianti Classico in Tuscany in September, I was keen to see who would win the gong for 2024. The 2024 award went to Marqu\u00e9s de Riscal, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. The Marqu\u00e9s de Riscal City of Wine is renowned for its Instagram-friendly photogenic hotel, which was designed by architect Frank Gehry. The vineyards were established in 1858, planted with Tempranillo and Graciano as the main grape varieties. The best rows are used to produce the flagship Bar\u00f3n de Chirel Reserva.<\/p>

VIK claimed the runner-up spot for its vineyard, which is part of a 4,300ha nature reserve in the Millahue Valley, Chile. The final place on the podium was awarded to Creation in Hemel-en-Aarde, South Africa.<\/p>
