A Pinot Noir from Burgundy, between Nuits Saint Georges and Vosne Romanee. A dense ruby colour in the glass. The vivid perfume is familiar, yet different from a New Zealand wine – cherry, raspberry, cassis, orange peel and blueberry, with an underlying earthiness to that fruit, and top notes of vanilla and lilac. Medium bodied, with a breeze of acid that floats through giving energy & attack to the palate. The ripe fruit coats the tongue, and savoury smoked meat and spice join the party.
