The Yount Mill Vineyard that provided the fruit for this Semiilon was one of the first certified organic vineyards in the Napa Valley. The colour of pale green cut hay in the glass. The scent has a similar meadow grass kick to it, with mandarin peel, green apple, lemon, dried pineapple rings, and a fresh floral top note. The alcohol is restrained – 10-5% – and it feels agile and light in the palate. Clean, zesty and very minerally, with a crushed shell piquancy and toothsomeness. Importantly, there is a signature Semillon texture – an oily, honeycomb, beeswax tone that offers depth and plumpness over those leaner elements.
