I found the bottle really quite tricky to open, with a long, tight-fitting cork. 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay grapes from the Matahiwi home vineyard, in the Wairarapa region. A fine line of bubbles, but not overly sparkling (compared to some M\u00e9thode tried recently). A yeasty autolysis note lights up the perfume, with lemon, apple, apricot and a touch of red cranberry flavour is there too. An elegant and broad feel to the palate, with a fine balance of zesty and richness.
