The Carm\u00e9n\u00e8re naturally sets the tone – its smoky richness permeating the perfume, where bramble, damson, peppercorn, mulberry, incense, elderberry, vanilla and tobacco mingle. Quite rich and decadent, with a velvet smooth mouthfeel offset by some bright acidity. The oak is slightly edgy just now, but this youthful blend has excellent ageing potential. The tannin is chalky and fine, forming the spine of the medium-bodied palate.
