A rare wine from Martinborough – the pinnacle of the Estate, and only made in exceptional years \u2013 only a handful of vintages exist. A dark and opaque burgundy red in the glass. Brightly aromatic, with red plums, cherries and cranberries. That nibble of savoury, game and spice is in play, showing regional (Martinborough) definition, alongside some lovely green, woody herbals. A big wine – the oak is noticeable, but there is a spritely acidity in this bottling that I haven\u2019t seen in other vintages. This lends a directness and focus away from the toasty oak, keeping depth, but adding vibrancy and length.
